Edward Kenneth Stelzer of Armada passed away at Wellbridge of Romeo on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the age of 81 years.
Edward was born on January 6, 1939 in Detroit. He was born to John and Gertrud (nee Werner) Stelzer. On November 25, 1961, he married Marjorie M. Danielak and they had 58 wonderful years and raised four children together.
Ed owned and operated a sheet metal fabrication business and he alongside his two sons ran it until just this past year when he officially retired. He enjoyed bringing joy and laughter to people’s lives, even attending Oops “clown college” to perfect his practical jokes and humor.
Ed was passionate about his church community at St. Mary Mystical Rose and his own Spiritual Growth. He served as EME, RCIA Director and Bible Study Facilitator at St. Mary’s. Ed loved helping people in whatever way he could. He could be best described as simple, hardworking, walked in faith and doing good deeds for others. Ed will be greatly missed by his loving family, devoted catholic community, work family and dear friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; children, Karen (Jeffery) Harper, Shelley (Wayne) Bennett, Edward J. Stelzer and David Stelzer; grandchildren, Eric (Maureen) Harper, Ashely (Paul) McWhinnie, Alexander Harper, Sarah (Christopher) Paluch and Noah Bennett; great grandchildren, James Harper, Robert Harper, Reese McWhinnie and Wyatt Paluch; brother, Paul Stelzer and sister-in-law, Sophie Stelzer. Ed was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Davis; brothers, Ron (Madeline) Stelzer and Jack Stelzer and parents, John and Gertrud Stelzer.
Visitation for Ed will take place on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, Modetz Chapel, 73919 Fulton, Armada.
The Funeral Mass will take place on at 11:00 a.m. with 10:00 a.m. instate time on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Church, 24040 Armada Ridge Road, Armada.
Internment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in West Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township.
